RACO ELECTRIC ACTUATORS® FOR BUILDING TECHNOLOGY
We offer customized solutions for drive systems in doors, gates and segment barriers that combine all aspects of modern architecture, building security and hazard prevention. Systems for goods & heavy load elevators are also created from a large number of components developed and produced in-house.
The realization of a harmonious motion sequence and exact positioning in combination with various security functions for personal protection are day-to-day business for RACO.

DOOR AND GATE OPERATION
Large gates and door systems, e.g. in architecture for the design of exterior facades, or heavy property protection and security doors are operated with RACO electric cylinders®.
The application example shows 12m high glass swing doors at an atrium access. Each pivot axis of the total of 5 doors is driven by the RACO electric cylinders®, which are connected by means of a lever arm in the basement. The RACOmatic® controls the movement profile and ensures exact positioning so that in the closed position a flush glass front is created even without a door stop.
In safety door systems with frame and fixed stop, the last millimetres are moved safely to the end position at creep speed and with active force limitation. Systems are optionally equipped with spring elements and/or emergency release.

Segment barriers
With RACO Electric actuators segment barriers can be operated as access barriers with high impact loads. If the segment barrier is set down recessed in the roadway, the electric actuator is also relieved of load so that no forces are transmitted to the drive when a vehicle passes over it.
Areas with high security requirements such as banks, system-relevant facilities such as power plants or other protected zones can thus be effectively protected against unauthorized entry.
Systems with a quick protection function can be moved into position in a few seconds.

ELEVATOR TECHNOLOGY
Freight elevators are also increasingly used in modern architecture. Examples include automobile factories in production and in the world of experience for factory collection, as well as car dealerships in the brand CI, which extend over several levels.
Limiting the spring deflection when loading and unloading the cabin with the RACO SAFESTOP touchdown device not only enables
access with forklifts and industrial trucks, but also with cars and vans.

Building air conditioning
The historic 125-year-old palm house in the palace gardens in Vienna, with over 4,000 exotic plants, requires different areas with different climatic conditions.
For this purpose, windows in the roof and on the vertical glazing are opened and closed in a controlled manner using electric cylinders.
Further applications were realized in hot regions for roof dome actuation and sun protection devices with RACO electric actuators.
