Grabber activation in crane systems

Crane systems are equipped with adapted lifting components to lift special loads. In terms of the grabbers, a differentiation is made between positive locking and frictional locking.

For instance, electric actuators for positive-locking load lifting equipment are used; these are ‘slung’ around the part. An additional limitation of the maximum force of the electric actuators to lift cylindrical objects ensures protection against damage.

RACO electric actuators have the following options for limiting the setting force:

  • Electronic shutdown by recording the motor current; realised via the RACO EWS 100
  • Electronic shutdown by limiting performance; realised by the RACOmatic® in the configuration D ‘force controlled’

RACO electric actuators are also used for safe format changes on beams and locking of parts on load lifting equipment.
